A Rhapsody of Words [Bron]
— J. Chr. de Vries
Life and Death!
Heavy substance.
Why, what should be the fear?
The act of fear,
Far and near,
In that sleep of death,
The strings of life,
That things might change or cease –
Fear to lose it.
How to forget that learning?
Know you the hand?
A hand to write this?
In wisdom I should ask thy name.
How
To feel this
Process of my death
Is so conjunctive to my life and soul?
That both the worlds
Of Life,
Of Death,
Of
Ordinary men
And
Good spirits,
When in one line two crafts directly meet
Then is the world one.
All my living
One true sense.
Might I but live to see thee in my touch
The rest is silence.
Words, words, words.
How to value
A rhapsody of words?
